The signal behind Cartel Of One
Cartel Of One is a solo music production project crafting dark, atmospheric soundscapes and electronic compositions.
Each release explores the intersection of analog warmth and digital precision, creating immersive sonic environments that blur the lines between genres.
All music is available exclusively on Bandcamp, supporting direct artist-to-listener connection.
Cartel Of One is exactly what it sounds like: a cartel with a membership of one. No band, no label, no committee — just a single producer building entire sonic worlds from scratch, one track at a time.
The catalogue moves freely between downtempo, ambient techno, dub-inflected grooves, and cinematic scoring — treated less as separate boxes and more as neighbouring rooms in the same dark building. A track can open on a slow-motion pulse and end up somewhere closer to a film score, and that's by design.
Every release starts from texture rather than melody — a wash of synth pads, a sample pulled from somewhere unexpected, a found sound recorded and warped past recognition — and gets built outward until it becomes a space you can stand inside. The aim isn't to be background music. It's to be a signal worth stopping for.
Everything here is self-produced, self-released, and self-hosted — recorded, mixed, and shipped without a label standing between the sound and the listener. Bandcamp is the only home for it, by choice: no algorithm deciding what gets heard, no shuffle mode diluting the sequencing. Just the transmission, direct.

Php has been updated
Read Entry →As the news of the Php2shell exploit hits the media, I have updated the version of Php that I use on the webserver
It's always been a bit of a pain when it comes to updating Php. You always end up with some unavoidable errors appearing in your previously polished code that needs correcting before your website is back up and running.
Thankfully Google Antigravity was there to do the heavy lifting and the update took no more than 20 minutes to complete. And only 10 minutes of downtime.
Having a good start to October in the studio
Read Entry →It may be the weather, or the thought of a holiday away in December, but I'm feeling very creative this month (October).
I've finished quite a few tracks and published them to BandCamp
I'm giving re-FX Nexus a bit of a tryout
Read Entry →I remember using Nexus many years ago. As I'm reinstalling all my DAW vsts again, I thought i would give Nexus 5 a try. I have to admit that it does have some great sounds for a rompler
No releases ever in September
Read Entry →It wasn't until I got an AI to look into the dates of all my releases, that i realised that I had never released anything in September. Nothing in that month, over the full lifespan of this project.
I finally broke that duck, this year!
Why is Omnisphere 3 such a pain to install on Windows
Read Entry →The program itself and the VST3 are fine, but then you have to mess around with the Steam folder, making sure that it's in the right location, only to find out that all the presets aren't showing up. After many attempts the solution seemed to be opening up the Omnisphere 3 standalone version and set everything there. Finally sorted and up and running!
Being more selective with my VSTs
Read Entry →I'm going to be more selective this time when it comes to the VST plugins that I will put on my computer. I ended up with around 5500 or so plugins last time. Many duplicates in VST2 and VST3 formats. I need to keep the numbers down this time, as quite a few of them never even got loaded.
I guess it was the FOMO
Recent Hack lost all my files
Read Entry →I recently suffered a ransomware attack on my computers that left me without and access to Ableton Live, samples or any of the productions that I have published or were in the process of completing. A real pain in the ass, but not really life or death
